276 applications have been received and the Education department has opened a 3-day appeal period
226 children aged 0 to 2 years old have been enrolled in the three municipal nursery schools and the SAPI in Benidorm

226 children aged 0 to 2 in Benidorm have obtained places at the three municipal nursery schools—Les Fontanelles, Les Caletes, and El Tossalet—and the Early Childhood Care Service (SAPI) for the 2025/2026 school year, as reported today by the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno. The provisional lists of places were published today on the municipal website (https://benidorm.org) and can also be consulted at the nursery schools themselves.
Moreno explained that "of the 226 places allocated, 16 correspond to babies under 1 year old; 143 are for 1-year-old toddlers; and the remaining 67 are for P2 children." The councillor indicated that "276 applications have been received for this upcoming school year, so the available places have been filled," and emphasised that "approximately 95% of the allocated school places will be filled by minors residing in Benidorm."
After the provisional allocation process, "46 minors currently remain on the waiting list, of which 23 are registered in Benidorm and the remaining 23 are registered in other locations." However, once the complaints and claims process is completed, "only minors with a family unit registered in Benidorm will be added to the official waiting list, as they are the ones who have priority when it comes to accessing places in the municipal network."
Moreno indicated that "as in previous academic years, there may be movement on the P2 waiting list, since in parallel with the enrollment process at the municipal nursery schools, the application process for places in the 2-year-old preschools designated by the Regional Ministry at the Serra d'Aitana, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Mestre Gaspar López, La Cala, and Puig Campana schools has also been underway."
The Education Councillor reported that "the period for objections to the provisional lists is open until Thursday, June 29." Once this process is complete, the final lists will be published on June 9, and objections may be filed from that same day until June 11. Subsequently, each school will set the enrollment date for admitted students.
Following the announcement of the results of the application process for places in the Nanets nursery schools and SAPI, the Councilor for Education stated that this is "a very similar number to previous academic years, confirming the great interest of families with children aged 0 to 2 in using this quality municipal educational service, which is key to work-life balance in many homes."
