The Youth Information Center will open from today the Espai Jove in the evenings and on Saturdays
From today, the Espai Jove of Benidorm City Council extends its schedule and will open its doors from Monday to Friday in the evenings and on Saturday morning and afternoon. This initiative of the Youth Council aims to serve young people beyond the usual schedule of the administration with playful-creative and educational activities. Thus, starting this Wednesday, the youth office will also provide services from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm; and on Saturdays, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The Councilor for Youth, Ana Pellicer, said today that the initiative responds to a "social demand of the youngest", and recalled that this issue "was also addressed in full." For this reason, the Department has designed a program of activities complementary to the work normally carried out by the Youth Information Center (CIJ).
To serve young people who come to the ICJ, the City Council will allocate two qualified monitors -whose hiring has already been approved in the Local Government Board- that will advise and inform the users, and will help them in the organization of exams and in the realization of activities.
In this sense, Ana Pellicer has pointed out that "craft workshops, cinephórums, role-playing games, storytelling, scientific experimentation games or informative lectures on topics of concern to young people such as sex education or employment counseling have been programmed." The councillor has specified that there will be the collaboration of professionals who will share their professional experience with ICJ users.
The programming of the activities will be monthly and will "incorporate the suggestions that the young people send us". To this effect, the City Council will publish a periodical publication with the contents that will be disseminated from the municipal portals and social networks.
