The urbanization that will join Paseo de Poniente and Avenida Vicente Pérez Devesa is already focused on the canalization of Rajarell ravine
The works of urbanization of the Unit of Action 1 Poniente, that will allow to unite Poniente promenade and Vicente Pérez Devesa Avenue and that they are in charge of the mercantile TM, continue advancing and in these moments they are focused in the channeling of Rajarell Ravine and in the construction of one of the new roads contemplated in the project. The councilman of Works and Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that both actions "have forced to cut the path of Rajarell", which "is usually used by all residents of the Xixo area to go down to the beach" and that "it will be converted into a road at least of 16 meters wide that can be used by vehicles and pedestrians with all the guarantees of accessibility."
De Zárate asked for "apologies" to users of this road for the "inconveniences" involved in its closure to pedestrian traffic, although he indicated that at the time of executing this work will be the date of less occupation and less use ".
The canalization of the ravine is one of the landmarks of the urbanization of this area -of about 60,000 square meters- and will be integrated into the new road. Both this road and the one that will run parallel to the sports facilities of the urbanization Las Lomas will have a width of between 16 and 24 meters, and in addition to the roadway for road traffic include bidirectional bike lanes three meters wide with protections, and wide and accessible sidewalks between three and six meters. These sidewalks will have shrub landscaping and two or three tree lines. Thus, the planting of 340 new trees of different species is planned, and the recovery of about 40 more. Additionally, about 1,000 square meters of landscaped spaces will be created.
In the new roads, 112 parking spaces have been designed, an adapted bus stop at the intersection of the interior road with Paseo Marítimo, and two electric vehicle charging points.
Likewise, the urbanization includes the implementation of all public services, with a network of LED lighting and elements of the Smart City. Specifically, there will be two Wi-Fi hotspots, a high-capacity data network and a municipal bicycle loan station.
In addition to the surface allocated to public facilities, the Unit of Action 1 Poniente has residential floor and hotel use.
The redeveloped project of urbanization of the Unit of Action 1 Poniente has the approval of the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar (CHJ) in relation to channeling Rajarell ravine, and also with the authorization of the General Directorate of Coasts. This Action Unit has a border and connects with the Partial Plan 2/1, whose urbanization will also be borne by TM Real Estate Group.
