During the ceremony the name of the town crier of the celebrations of 2016 was released, and went to the engineer Francisco G. de Santiago. Then the new members of honor were named: María Jesús Azorín, Enrique Domingo, Celia Puello, Maria del Mar Chanza, María del Sufragio Martínez, Luisa Martínez, Jacinto Zaragozí, Pepita Baldó, Carmen Martínez, Enrique Gutierrez and Valeri Giulianotti. The president of the Comissió gave them a commemorative badge to men and a handkerchief for women.
After the ceremony in the church, it took place at the Castle the traditional 'Sopar de Sant Jaume' which brought together more than 200 people. In the dinner, for the benefit of the Comissió, a picture by the artist Antonio de Felipe was raffled, author of the poster for the Festes Majors Patronals 2016 and one of the most important representatives of Spanish art.
The celebrations in honor of Sant Jaume continue on Sunday, from 21:00 pm with an open dance at the Castle. Tomorrow, the patron's day, the events will begin at 12:00 with the ringing of bells, and in the evening the parade and the inauguration of the poster for the Major Patron Saint Festivities. At night, in the church, a sung mass and the election of the new standard-bearers will be held. Subsequently, the queens and their ladies will dance 'El Peuet' a traditional dance. The day will end with the traditional 'ESTAMPETA' dedicated to the saint and a fireworks display.
