Benidorm puts in service a parking area next to the school centers of Els Tolls for more than 250 vehicles
The City Council has put into service today a new area of public parking and free next to the educational centers of the Els Tolls neighborhood, with capacity for more than 250 vehicles. Specifically, this car park is located in "an area adjacent to the new stop of the TRAM" in the street Italy, just two municipal plots located behind of Les Fontanelles children's school and the public schools Puig Campana and Els Tolls , as reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who has visited this space with the councilor of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate.
Pérez explained that "this perfectly conditioned space gains security, cleanliness and also guarantees for pedestrian traffic when accessing to these educational centers." In addition to "making student access safer" to the three schools, especially in the peak hours of entry and exit, this new area will mean "a great respite" for the upper Els Tolls neighborhood by adding a important number of parking spaces.
The mayor recalled that "it was the educational community itself that suggested converting this municipal land into a parking lot, part of which was given years ago to the Ministry of Health for the construction of a health center in the neighborhood, which has not been developed and that predictably will not be executed in a horizon of less than 36 months ". For this reason, last July the mayor asked the Conselleria for authorization to prepare this plot and "provisionally allocate it as a parking lot (...) for the schools until (...), the works of the health center begin."
In this car parking, places have been reserved for people with reduced mobility and for motorcycles and mopeds.
