The Department of Beaches is expanding the number of public baths to service the beaches of Benidorm and also the locations. This has been reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilor of the area, Lorenzo Martínez, after the act of raising the flag Qualitur on the beach of Mal Pas, which have been attended by several members of the corporation.

The mayor has detailed that this action "improve and increase the services made available to users of the beaches but also those who transit the coastline of Benidorm". Pérez has indicated that the intention is to "bring this basic service" and very demanded to citizens, and has ensured that the new cabins represent "an important jump in the amount" of public toilets "but also in the quality" of the service that lends to the users, since they redouble the devices of "attention and cleaning" of the same, that will be operative all the year.

In Paseo de Colón has already been installed a new cabin, which multiplies the number of public toilets in this location between the beaches of Poniente and Mal Pas, which passes from three urinals to nine and soon will be labeled as the existing module . In the near future "the bathrooms will be doubled in the final section of the avenue Madrid", where a new module will be installed, transferring the current one to Poniente beach. The area of ​​Levante is completed with the bathrooms in Murcia Street that were already operational. In Poniente area, the module from Rincón de Loix will be located at "the confluence of the Spanish Armada and Vicente Llorca Alós avenues, generating a new location next to the old Red Cross shed that currently houses the Playas service" .

Baths will also be installed in Paseo de Tamarindos, probably in the vicinity of the park, while the services located in a building of Los Fernandos building, halfway along Armada Española avenue, are maintained. The choice of sites and modules was made after several meetings in which municipal technicians, representatives of the political groups and those responsible for the concessionaire company responsible for the integral management of the beaches, RA Benidorm, participated.

Qualitur Flag

The beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas and the coves of Ti Ximo and l'Almadraba of Benidorm have once again renewed the Qualitur flag, which proves their quality and excellence and which is delivered annually by the Valencian Agency of Tourism. The Qualitur flag is linked to compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards of Quality and Environment. In total, 172 beaches from 35 destinations in the Valencian Community have achieved this recognition. In addition to the Qualitur, the beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas also have the Blue Flag and the Q of Quality. Likewise, the coves of l'Almadraba and Ti Ximo, like the three urban beaches, comply with the EMAS Regulation; and the point of accessible beaches of Elche Park is one of the few in the Levant that has the Universal Accessibility certification that regulates the UNE 170001-1 and 170001-2 standards.

Improvements in the coastal strip

Within "the tasks of permanent maintenance of the beaches and the urban scene", the municipal services are working these days on the repainting of the stone benches that give access to Poniente beach from Paseo de Colón. Some maintenance tasks that are also being carried out in Paseo de Tamarindos and in the area closest to El Tossal de La Cala.
