Benidorm celebrates one more year the World Alzheimer's Day facing the disease
The Association of Relatives, Patients and Collaborators of Alzheimer's (AFA), of the Marina Baixa has presented the events of the fifteenth edition of its 'Alzheimer's Week', organized in collaboration with Benidorm City Council.
The Councilor for Welfare, Angela Llorca, said that with these events, AFA commemorates September 21, World Alzheimer's Day, a day proclaimed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to "raise awareness and help prevent mental illness" . Llorca recalled that, in Benidorm and its region, AFA organizes an "intense and complete" week of events that will begin on Sunday 16 and end on the 23rd with "a classic", the "solidary meal".
The president of AFA, Garbiñe Mondragón, who has accompanied the councillor in the presentation of the Alzheimer's Week, thanked "the daily collaboration" that the City Council, through Social Welfare, lends to their association. A support that is translated "in our headquarters", in reference to the municipal premises transferred in the Social Center 'Pepa Esperanza Llinares Llorca' of La Cala, and to the putting in operation of a van for the transfer of the users, or the recently established "dining service from 10.00 to 17.00 hours".
