Benidorm announces grants for the promotion of women's sport, which grow to 100,000 euros.

For the second consecutive year, Benidorm City Council is going to announce municipal grants for the promotion of women's sport, which in 2020 will increase its budget from 90,000 to 100,000 euros. As reported by the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, next Monday the Local Government Board will approve the bases of these grants "which are aimed at clubs and / or local sports entities legally constituted and with at least one year old that have teams and / or female athletes ”.

The maximum eligible amount will be 20,000 euros per club or sports entity -5,000 euros more than the previous year-; an amount that may go to defray "activities, projects and programs" whose purpose "is the promotion and promotion of women's sport."

The councillor has detailed that when determining the amount of each grant will be taken into account, for example, the time that the entity has been participating with women's teams in federated events; the number of sports members registered in Benidorm; federative expenses related to teams or female athletes; the organization of activities aimed at promoting women's sports; or its collaboration with the Council in sporting events.

Cebreros has indicated that "with these grants we want to contribute to the promotion of women's sports, especially base sports, carried out by sports clubs and entities in Benidorm, in collaboration with municipal work".

Once the bases are approved and published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), the clubs will have 15 days to request this subsidy. Subsequently, a Technical Commission will be in charge of verifying and evaluating all the requests, to later raise a resolution proposal, which must be approved by the Local Government Board.

Last year grants amounting to 89,174 euros were awarded.
