A municipal brigade acts permanently in the streets of the neighborhood to maintain its good condition

Els Tolls residents meet their municipal representatives

09 July 2020
Los vecinos de Els Tolls se reúnen con sus representantes municipales

This morning, in the Municipal branch of Els Tolls, the councilors for Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer; and Works, Public Space and Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, have met with members of residents and citizens association convened through the Neighborhood Council which has been represented by its vice presidents, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notary.

The working meeting, the second after the period of the lock down by Covid-19 between neighbors and local administration, has served to review the list of neighborhood petitions and the actions carried out by the City Council. The councilors, said Ana Pellicer, have received "thanks" from the neighbors after having executed the total of "the requests made in the previous visit."

The councillor of Participation recalled that one of the municipal brigades of Public Space is permanent in Els Tolls carrying out "accessibility and improvement work in the tree pits". The workers has operated in recent weeks on the avenues of Suecia and Portugal and on Luxembourg Street; City Hall staff were working today on the construction of lugs at the confluence of Noruega Street with Andalucía Avenue. Ana Pellicer has stressed that these actions are implemented with the "incorporation of electricity and telecommunications services", underground, which facilitates updates, shortens installation times and prevents the completion of more works on public roads.

During the meeting, the residents have thanked the City Council for the new cannon for the disinfection of public roads coming into operation and have expressed to the councilors their concern about the possible misuse of the masks by young groups on the street, or the unsupportive attitude of some neighbors with pets who are not responsible for the collection of excrement. In this sense, the councilors have recalled that the Municipal Police watch at all times for compliance with municipal ordinances and that citizens must act responsibly in the face of these problems that affect us all.

Finally, Ana Pellicer, has called associations and residents of Poniente next week. A new meeting sponsored by the Neighborhood Council where they can express their concerns to the Administration. Pellicer also recalled that, the previous week, members of these groups asked the mayor, Toni Pérez, “to open new accesses to the beach”, which was materialized “immediately”.
