Within the activities scheduled for the European Conference on Archeology to be held between June 17 and 19, the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Benidorm City Council has scheduled a series of free workshops, aimed at Children's students and Primary, with the aim of making the Tossal de la Cala known among the little ones.

The workshops began on Friday, with a session from 10:00 to 11:00 in the morning and another one until noon. They have continued today Saturday and will end tomorrow Sunday.

With this activity, the children "will be able to learn -Ana Pellicer has said- through ceramics, what those soldiers of the Roman garrison were like and the people who lived with them". The children will always be accompanied by qualified personnel and will receive the support of the students of the 'T'avalem jove' employment programme, developed by the Employment and Local Promotion Agency of the Department of Employment in collaboration with Labora, the Valencian training service and employment.

The councillor explained that the children "will be explained the ceramic manufacturing process and what type of objects can be made with clay." Next, the little ones will be able to make clay pieces that they can take home as "a bulla - Pellicer has said -, an emblematic amulet in the childhood of Rome that children carried with them until puberty".

This morning, the workshops have been visited by the Scout Group 'Horizontes' from Benidorm, where its members, along with other children from Benidorm, have made their own ceramic objects.
