The Three Wise Men's day parade repeats its finale in the Julio Iglesias auditorium, where there will be a multimedia show and fireworks and where the traditional distribution of gifts is recovered
About 700 people will accompany the Three Wise Men this Thursday upon their arrival in Benidorm
About 700 people will accompany the Three Wise Men this Thursday, January 5, upon their arrival in Benidorm. Thus, the Parade recovers "numbers similar to those of 2020", before the outbreak of the pandemic, and all "its essence, splendor, and characteristics", according to what the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Fiestas have advanced today at a press conference.
As usual, the Parade will be divided "into two very defined parts". The first part will be playful and will star characters from "well-known" children's films and series; while the second, more traditional, "will recreate the story of the Three Wise Men of the East, a" very local version" for "the world" of Benidorm's parade with elements and moments of Christmas.
The 2023 Parade will depart at 6:00 p.m. from Elche Park and will run along Los Almendros avenue, Marte, Venus, Ruzafa, and Herrerías streets, Plaza de SSMM Reyes de España and Parque de l'Aigüera until it reaches Julio Iglesias auditorium.
Toni Pérez explained that "after the success of the last edition, we wanted to keep this great arrival of the Kings at Julio Iglesias auditorium so that no child misses that moment ”. The mayor has specified that this enclosure allows housing many more people "comfortably"; and he advanced that the amazing end of the Parade will have a multimedia show and fireworks. In addition, "the long-awaited distribution of gifts" among boys and girls by the Three Wise Men is recovered.
As for the participants in the parade, there will be around 400 'extras' between pages, shepherds and other companions; as well as four music bands, two groups of 'xirimiters', five dance groups, the Centuria Armada de Orihuela and 11 floats.
As is tradition, the music bands will interpret the adaptation of the symphonic suite 'Los Reyes Magos', “written for our Parade by the Benidorm composer Francisco José Rovira Peretó and that we remember that it is structured in six parts following the layout” of the story. 'The Story of the Three Wise Men'.
The mayor and the councilor for Fiestas have known all the details of this Parade by the emissaries of their Majesties in Benidorm. Emissaries "chosen by the Kings themselves" and who "have in common their passion for sport and Benidorm", two issues that they also share with the Christmas Star. Thus, the former football players Vicente Blanco Sánchez 'Tito', Antonio López Guerrero, and Guillermo Amor Martínez are this year the right hand of the Three Wise Men, who will arrive in the city guided by Nerea Pérez Machado, also a Benidorm footballer, current player for Villarreal CF.
While Their Majesties advance towards Benidorm, Toni Pérez reminded "the little ones and their families that today Tuesday, and tomorrow Wednesday the Royal Postman will be at Plaza de la Navidad, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., collecting the letters from the boys and girls in Benidorm to get them to the Kings as soon as possible" and so that the night of January 5 "be the one that all of Benidorm expects and deserves".
