The replacement of a hundred lampposts inside the enclosure will allow greater energy and economic savings

Benidorm renews all the lights in Parque de l'Aigüera, completes the new toilets and replaces the pavement of the avenue

Benidorm City Council is undertaking the renovation of a hundred luminaires inside Parque de l'Aigüera thanks to the city's 'Public Lighting Renovation' program, financed in equal parts by the City Council itself and the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE). This action is added to some that are being carried out and others that have been completed in the surroundings of the park itself.

Among the latter are the toilets of Julio Iglesias auditorium, which will open tomorrow for the Morad concert. Among those that are executed is the renovation of the pavement in a 120-meter section of the avenue, to replace it with another non-slip one.

These actions have been visited today within the 'A pie de calle' campaign by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the councillors of Citizen Participation and Public Space, Ana Pellicer and José Ramón González de Zárate, accompanied by other members of the local government, the vice presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario, and residents of the neighbourhood.

Thus, inside the park, it is planned to replace 40 luminaires with as many of the Senda model and 60 of the Classic model, as explained by the mayor, who has also specified that another 60 luminaires will also be renewed on l'Aigüera Avenue ornamental Stylo pattern. “It is a very powerful performance because we changed a hundred new ornamental lights. A long-awaited renovation that not only aesthetically improves what already exists, but also security and lighting capacity, with self-management elements to improve the lighting capacity of the venue,” Pérez pointed out.

In that sense, the first mayor has recalled that "it is a historical claim of the neighbours, because right now there are lights that this park does not deserve. That is why we remove them all and renew them under the IDAE program "with a brown colour, fully approved and prepared". Thanks to the built-in Telemanagement system "we improve energy and economic savings and they don't bother the neighbours".

The renovation is being carried out from Plaza de Toros down the park and, in fact, has already reached Julio Iglesias amphitheatre and is heading towards Óscar Esplá auditorium.

At this point, the mayor has also influenced the comprehensive renovation of the public toilets in Julio Iglesias auditorium "with more capacity for both ladies and gentlemen and completely new elements" such as anti-vandalism doors. It has also highlighted repairs to benches and access doors or the replacement of the pavement in a 120-meter section with another made of non-slip material. In short, he has said, "it is about contributing with these investments so that an important space of coexistence recovers the brilliance that it should never have lost".

Another action that he has described as "important" is the installation of a medium voltage line, in charge of the company Iberdrola, which is also carrying out improvements in the urban scene and the accessibility of the area.
