The Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO) is already 50% lower in Benidorm, as the modification of Tax Ordinance number 5 has entered into force, which temporarily halves the tax on this matter. The Councilor for Finance, Aida García Mayor, recalled that “at the proposal of the government team, the plenary session initially approved on July 27 a package of bonuses and tax reductions of between 50 and 75% in certain rates, public prices and taxes and that benefit the population as a whole and that contribute to reducing the economic and social consequences derived from the health emergency situation ”.

Among the approved tax cuts "is that of the ICIO, which from now until March 31, 2021 will have a tax rate of 2% instead of 4%." García Mayor has indicated that "this fiscal measure is aimed at the local productive fabric, to encourage, stimulate and promote the performance of certain new construction or renovation activities, which in turn result in employment and in the social and general interest of Benidorm ”.

The head of the Treasury recalled that, in addition to the reduction of the ICIO, discounts of between 50 and 75% will also be applied shortly in the public prices of services and cultural, educational and sports activities that depend on the City Council.
