Las escuelas infantiles de Benidorm registran 281 solicitudes de plaza para el curso 2024-2025

Education will publish the lists of those admitted on May 15, after which a 3-day claims period will open

The three municipal nursery schools of Benidorm – Les Fontanelles, Les Caletes and El Tossalet – and the Nanets early childhood care service (SAPI) have registered a total of 281 applications for a place for the next academic year 2025-2025. This was stated today by the Councilor for Education of the Benidorm City Council, Maite Moreno, who explained that "for another year, the interest of families with children from 0 to 2 years old in using these services is very high", which In his opinion, it reflects the “quality of our schools and the great support they provide to promote conciliation in many homes.”

Maite Moreno has advanced some of the data collected by Education about this process of applying for places, which she concluded on April 30. According to these data, of the 281 applications submitted, 214 belong to families registered in Benidorm for more than a year, who have priority access when obtaining a school place in nursery schools; another 27 are from registered families but with less than 12 months of experience; while the remaining 40 are from families not registered in the town, the last in the order of access to these places.

Likewise, the councillor has reported that 29 of the instances fall within the educational level of 0 years, within which there are three requests for babies that have not yet been born; another 171 are for the P1 level, which corresponds to children 1 year old; and, finally, there are another 81 applications for enrollment at the P2 level, which includes 2-year students.

Within this balance, Moreno recalled that the offer of places for the 2024/2025 course of Infants from 0 to 2 years in the municipal network is 220 vacancies for families with minors born in the years 2022, 2023 and 2024. The number of provisional vacancies is distributed in 16 places for Infants from 0 years old; 140, for P1; and 64 2-year-old Infant places, to which are added the 90 additional P2 places offered in five public schools in the city: Puig Campana, Mestre Gaspar López, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Aitana and La Cala.

Likewise, the councillor has clarified that "the overall offer of the three municipal nursery schools is greater than the places offered, but part of the school places are already occupied by students enrolled in previous years who have confirmed their enrollment and who in September will increase level".

Finally, the municipal head of Education has recalled the rest of the important dates in this admission calendar for municipal nursery schools and the SAPI. Specifically, the provisional lists will be published on May 15, opening a period of three days – May 15, 16 and 17 – to submit claims. On May 27, the final lists will be published, which can be used from that same day until May 29. Finally, once this process is completed, each centre will set the registration date for admitted students.
