Includes minors born in 2016 and 2017 who already had a grant the previous year

Benidorm gives in a first round 638 grants for the acquisition of school supplies for the 2nd cycle of Infantile

Benidorm concede en una primera tanda 638 ayudas para la adquisición de material escolar de 2º ciclo de Infantil

The vouchers will be issued in the second half of August

Benidorm City Council has approved the first remittance for the acquisition of school supplies for the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education, corresponding to minors born in 2016 and 2017 who already had this benefit last year 2020/2021. The mayor of Education, Maite Moreno, has reported that "this remittance includes 638 beneficiaries, 92 more than the previous year, and amounts to 39,556 euros, which represents an increase of just over 5,700 euros compared to 2020".
Moreno explained that "for the second consecutive year, the Department has made this first remittance ex officio with all the beneficiaries who already had this grant the previous year and that in 2021/2022 they will continue to attend the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education." To the initial remittance “others will soon be added with the requests that are received, and that will correspond mainly to the students who join this course as a 3-year-old infant, the minors born in 2018, as well as the boys and girls of 2nd cycle that did not request a grant in previous courses ”.
The person in charge of Education has recalled that the application period for grants is open until September 20, and to access the call, the family unit must be registered in Benidorm before March 9, 2021. The aid can requested at the Municipal Administrative Extensions of La Cala, Foietes-Colonia Madrid, Els Tolls-Salt de l'Aigua and Ricón de Loix; in the Department of Education, located on the third floor of the Town Hall; and on the website: https://sede.benidorm.org.
According to the data provided by the mayor, "for this 2020/2021 academic year the maximum individual grant will be 62 euros" and the total amount that has been reserved for this call amounts to 70,000 euros, 2,000 more than the previous year.
Moreno has indicated that "it is expected that during the second half of August aid vouchers will be issued, information that will be communicated to families so that they can collect them at the point they have assigned and that depends on the educational center of each student."
Thus, the students of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores catholic center and the CEIPs Gabriel Miró, Mestre Gaspar López, Ausiàs March, Leonor Canalejas and Miguel Hernández will collect their vouchers in the Department of Education, located on the third floor of the Town Hall. Els Tolls and Puig Campana schools are assigned the municipal branch in Els Tolls; while in the municipal branch in Foietes the vouchers will be available for the students of the CEIPs Bautista Lledó, Vasco Núñez de Balboa and Aitana. Finally, the beneficiaries of La Cala and El Murtal schools will collect the vouchers in the municipal branch of La Cala, and those of Serra Gelada in the branch in Rincón de Loix.
