I Municipal Plan for the LGTBI+ people in Benidorm
We are witnessing a profound social change, with a greater presence and visibility in all social spheres of homosexual, bisexual, transsexual and intersex people.
The Spanish Constitution and subsequent legislation have included a series of changes and advances in matters of gender equality, such as marriage or de facto partnerships of people of the same sex, as well as the exercise of rights related to these legal figures.
But despite the progress, there is still much to do since there are numerous incidents that have to do with sexual orientation and gender identity and people who suffer this type of discrimination must be protected and their rights must be guaranteed. by public powers.
The First Municipal Plan for the LGTBI+ people in Benidorm, approved by the Municipal Plenary on November 28, 2016, aims to promote and support all those actions to make visible and claim the rights of the LGTBI people, improve the lives of people in equal conditions and promote respect for sexual and gender diversity, with special attention to the most vulnerable people.
