Negotiation between Benidorm and banks allows to earn more than 600,000 euros in interest
"These data are the result of good management led by the Treasury department," stated the councillor. On the other hand, Guijarro described like "minimum" the fees paid for arrangements made by financial institutions, which amounted to 5.299,94 euros in 2013 and 3,293 euros in 2014.
"We move 90 million euros a year, so we have favorable conditions. It is ridiculous to pay 5,000 euros for the amount of money we handle, " she noted. Guijarro recalled that "with negotiations we have had with banks the interest paid are even better than those paid by the State". The councillor pointed out that the good economic management and the Adjustment Plan 2012 has allowed to refinance credits with banks, enabling savings of 8 million euros over the next ten years. In addition, the Consistory has no debt with suppliers.
