Benidorm reinforces its commitment to sustainable mobility with a new edition of Benimov Fair and Forum

The city of Benidorm once again becomes the epicenter of sustainable mobility this week with a new edition of the Benimov Fair and Forum, an event that revolves around urban mobility, vehicles, and sustainable technology and that will take place from tomorrow, Thursday, until next Sunday, September 10. The Councilor for Mobility of the Benidorm City Council, Francis Muñoz, presented this Wednesday all the details of the new edition of Benimov, together with Raúl Parra, president of Aico, and Antonio Pérez, head of the consulting firm CHao, who together with the City Council participate in the organization of the event.
“Benidorm is increasingly a benchmark in sustainability due to more than proven merits,” highlighted the mayor of Mobility, who also recalled that the City Council has been “for a long time betting and working to create an electric vehicle charging network” to promote the use of non-polluting vehicles. Likewise, he has indicated that "events like this serve to keep us at the forefront" and that Benimov constitutes a "consolidated event, which this year marks the third edition of the forum and the fourth of the fair", where "speakers from all over the world" will attend. world and the latest market developments in electric and hybrid vehicles, which the public will be able to discover and test on the streets of our city.”
As the councilor explained, Benimov is divided into two parts, directly related to each other. The first of them, Benimov Forum, will take place throughout the day on Friday in El Torrejó Municipal Building, with different round tables where “very interesting topics will be discussed about the topic of mobility, energy, water treatment, footprint water or social footprint, with very powerful experts,” indicated Antonio Pérez. The head of CHao has highlighted that one of the new features this year is the topic related to water and its treatment: “The water and the sun that we have on this earth appear as topics of debate because it is what produces hydrogen, which is the fuel that we are going to use in the coming years", after which he anticipated that "we are experiencing a period of great changes in this field, which will mean a before and after."
Likewise, he highlighted that the opening and closing conferences will be given by two “prestigious” experts. The first of them, titled “Sustainable Mobility and Urban Acupuncture, will be given by Juan Carlos Sánchez Galiano, chief engineer of the Benidorm City Council. Meanwhile, the closing ceremony will be led by Andrés de León, CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, who travels expressly from Dubai to present the world's first commercial experience testing hyperloop technology, a supersonic or ultrafast capsule for the transport of passengers and/or cargo, which is planned to be carried out between the Italian cities of Padua and Venice.
As far as the Fair is concerned, Mediterranean Avenue will be for the third consecutive year the showcase where the latest electric and hybrid vehicles will be exhibited and in which exhibitors from the main automobile brands will participate. Raúl Parra, the president of Aico, explained that there will be models that are “very striking and that will attract a lot of public” and recalled that any visitor “will be able to try them by making an appointment with the exhibitors” during the three days of the fair. : Friday Saturday and Sunday.
Likewise, among this year's novelties stands out what it has been called “Agustín Payá Experience”, in which the public will also be able to test the vehicles with this professional car driver, specialized in non-polluting vehicles and Spanish Rally Champion. of Alternative Energies in the electric car category in 2015.
Finally, the Councilor for Mobility highlighted that the final objective of this fair, unlike others that take place in other places, “is not commercial, but rather aims to bring electric vehicles closer to citizens, so that they know the options that are on the market and how they work" since they will be the priority means of transport "in a very short time", and has invited Benidorm residents and visitors to "participate and enjoy the event."
