Red.es  It is a public business entity of the Ministry of Economy and Business that depends on the Secretary of State for Digital Progress.

It develops programs to promote the digital economy, innovation, entrepreneurship, training for young people and professionals and support for SMEs by promoting efficient and intensive use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It also deploys technological implementation programs in the Administration's public services – especially in Health, Justice and Education – and works for the development of Smart Cities and Islands.

Many of Red.es' projects are carried out thanks to funding from the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF).

The project ‘Benidorm, Destino Turístico Inteligente y Sostenible’ has a budget of €4,023,058.74, contributed 60% by Red.es and 40% by Benidorm City Council and is co-financed by FEDER through the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain (POPE).

This initiative seeks to improve the municipality's tourism intelligence system through a Comprehensive Management System, which will allow for structured information and data to better understand the tourists and thus be able to establish product and promotion strategies according to the market and tourist typology, improving at the same time. time the services offered to citizens and companies.

It contemplates the implementation of equipment for the intelligent management of the tourist destination and beaches, to increase sustainability and energy efficiency, as well as tourist and citizen satisfaction.
