Youth organizes a course on rescue techniques in the aquatic environment

The Department of Youth has scheduled the course 'Rescue techniques in the aquatic environment' to be held between 5 and 8 April. An activity aimed at people between 18 and 35 years old (with reservations for older people if there are places available), who wish to acquire the necessary knowledge about the aquatic environment, its characteristics and also the different rescue techniques.

This training "is especially aimed at acquiring the fundamentals, skills and attitudes necessary to carry out a rescue safely and effectively in the event of an accident or an emergency situation," said the Councilor for Youth, Ana Pellicer, at the presentation of the course to the one that has come accompanied by the chief technician of Municipal Youth, José Romeu.

Pellicer has detailed the objectives of the course: "Master the different techniques of rescue with or without rescue material in the aquatic environment. Control the victim, regardless of their status, situation or position. Control and master the spinal cord injury. And, finally, master the techniques of lifting victims on boats or rescue watercraft. "

Registration costs 40 euros and two groups of 20 participants each have been organized. This training points towards the realization of oppositions to the different bodies of police, firemen and others, which, from the outset, ensures that it is of interest to the people who are preparing to practice these professions in the future.

For his part, José Romeu wanted to differentiate this activity from the typical first aid courses. The course will consist of a first theoretical day, a second practice at the Palau d'Esports pool and two more practices at Poniente beach. Registrations can be made at the Youth Information Center located at the ground floor of the City Council, from March 26 to April 4.
