The Youth department has convened the thirty-second edition of the Contest for New Creators of Painting and Sculpture, Benidorm 2020 in which "all young people who wish and who are between 14 and 35 years old can participate." This was announced today by the councilor responsible for the area, Jaime Jesús Pérez, before the media of the province.

Pérez has emphasized that young people from all over Spain can participate in this contest. "It is not limited - he pointed out - to Benidorm, but any young person with original and unpublished works with free themes and dimensions can be presented", although he has specified that each contestant "only" may compete with a maximum of two works. The artists have until January 8 to present their creations in the Youth area of the Benidorm City Council

The works participating in the New Creators contest can be seen between January 15 and February 19 at the Espai d’Art of the City Council. In case the works exceeded the capacity of the room, a selection of them would be exhibited.

As in the previous edition, "a single prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded" for each modality: painting or sculpture. The winning works "will become the property of the City Council." Jaime Jesús Pérez has also indicated that there will be a special award for the best work "made by people under 18 years old."
