Thunderous mascletá by Pirotecnia Valenciana to celebrate the Day of Sant Jaume

A spectacular mascletá in charge of the prestigious Valencian Fireworks deafened the thousands of participants of the festivities, neighbors and tourists who gathered in the Plaza de la Hispanidad and who did not disappoint on the third day of the Major Festivities.

The queens of the celebrations Ana Galiana and Àngela Antón were again in charge of shooting more than a hundred kilos of gunpowder in the second mascletá programmed and that started the final applause of the spectators before the watchful eye of the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez, councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, the president of the Comissió de Festes, Antonio Vicente Fuster and the president of the Association of Penyes, Mariano Nájera.

Previously the solemn mass was celebrated in the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, in honor of St. James the Apostle, patron of Benidorm, officiated by the priest Don Estanislao Trives Sánchez, with the assistance of Queens, Ladies, Flagger, Town Crier, Mayorales de Honor, Authorities, Comissió of Festes Majors Patronals and neighbors of Benidorm. The mass was sung by the Coral Association of Benidorm.

The events in honor of San Jaime Apóstol will continue this afternoon at 7 pm with the solemn procession through the downtown streets of the old town: Calle Mayor, Alameda del Mayor D. Pedro Zaragoza Orts, Paseo de la Carretera, Santa Faz and Plaza de San James.

At the end of the procession, it will ignite the traditional Estampeta de Sant Jaume and inside the temple, the pastor will announce the proposal of Mayorales to organize the Major Festivities of 2018.

To end this day there will be two performances. The first of them in Gambo street from 22 hours with a party of the 40 Principales and at 00: 30h in the Plaza de SSMM The Kings of Spain the group The Gafapasta will make a walk through the Spanish music of the 80's and 90's.
