Éxito de público y brillante interpretación en el concierto 'Música por la Igualdad' celebrado ayer

In Levante Hall of the Convention Center of Meliá Villaitana Hotel in Benidorm, the central act of the “20th Regional Meeting of Gifts” was held yesterday afternoon, linked to the commemoration of International Women's Day.

65 women musicians belonging to the Municipal Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló' and to the three bands of Benidorm, under the baton of the conductor of the Orchestra Irene Isabel García Esteban, performed nine selected pieces composed by women or dedicated to them that included the premiere of "Spanish Fantasy", by Regina Artero. Prior to the concert, the director García Esteban spoke about women in the world of music, focusing on the orchestral direction.

The Councilors of Equality and Culture of Benidorm City Council, Ángela Zaragozí and Jaime Jesús Pérez, greeted those present and meant both the moment and their integration into the date to commemorate Women's Day. Among the public number, mainly female, were the councilors of Equality and Women of the municipalities of the region, a large representation of the municipal corporation of Benidorm, mayors of the municipalities of Callosa d'Ensarriá and Vila Joiosa, and the mayor from Benidorm, who congratulated the musical initiative, which he described as "wonderful", noting that "Benidorm proudly hosts this concert that bets on equality and culture as a vehicle of integration", highlighting "the transversality of music as magnificent vehicle for inclusion ”.

Toni Pérez placed special emphasis on the women's orchestra and its director: “only three rehearsals have been enough to join together and offer this sample of music for women, performed by women, which conquers all”. He highlighted the efforts of the instrumentalists, the union achieved between the three musical societies of Benidorm and the conservatory 'José Pérez Barceló', as well as of the voluntary, prestigious soloist music, who have joined the concert, and encouraged “that the music continue to be a vehicle of integration ”based on the premises of equality, dignity and respect it brings.
