Sport and solidarity weekend to the benefit of Anémona and its fight against breast cancer

The trail runner Javier Velasco and other runners will cross during the night the 55 km that separate Alcoleja from Benidorm

This morning, the II Trail por Ellas with Javier Velasco and the 'Zumbathon' or Zumba Marathon with Jessica Expósito have been organized in Benidorm for the next weekend by Anémona, the Self-help Association for Women with Breast Cancer in collaboration with the councils of Equality and Sports of Benidorm City Hall.

The Councilors of Equality, Paquita Ripoll, and Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, together with the president of Anémona, Maria Botella and the trail runner Javier Velasco, have appeared before the media to detail the activities that will start o Saturday 24 in th eevning with the Trail por Ellas and will continue on Sunday with the festival of zumba, starting at 10.30 am at Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España.

Benidorm City Council, with the support of these solidarity initiatives, shows its support for Anémona "a very active association", said Paquita Ripoll, "who carries out many activities to raise awareness and support women with breast cancer" and they can have "a better quality of life". Arturo Cabrillo, head of the Sports department, said that "it is an honor" to be able to collaborate with Anémona's activities and "always be close to citizens and associations".

María Botella believes that joining this year's third edition of her 'Zumbathon' with the Trail will be "extremely interesting", she has been convinced that the possible heat "will not end with all the people who are dancing and those who come running" and has announced the presence in Benidorm of zumba fitness trainer Jessica Expósito on Saturday and Sunday and the participation of "monitors from all the province, and even from Valencia."

Finally, runner Javier Velasco, has pointed out that the main objective of the second Trail por Ellas is to raise funds for anemone because "help a lot to people who have breast cancer." Velasco has dedicated the race to all the people who suffer the disease although "not accompany us" and has made a special reference to his mother. The corridor has pointed out that this year will be about 55 km. We will leave Benidorm at 8 pm on Saturday by bus to Alcoleja (Comptat), from there, running, we will pass through the Port of Tudons, and we will climb the 1,550 m. From Aitana, we will pass by Puig Campana, Sierra Cortina and, finally, we will arrive in Benidorm, at the gates of the Town Hall, at approximately at 11.00 in the morning. In this tour the athlete from Benidorm will be accompanied by a score of runners and others that will be incorporated during the trip.

Registration for the Zumba Marathon costs only 5 euros. The trail is free. Anémona will put on sale throughout the weekend commemorative t-shirts at a price of 6 euros.
