Social Welfare subsidizes with about 70,000 euros the projects of 12 social entities
The Department of Social Welfare has ruled the two calls for municipal grants aimed at non-profit social entities in Benidorm that develop projects in the socio-sanitary field and international cooperation. The mayor of the area, Angela Llorca, has reported that “eight associations have attended the first line of grants, aimed at entities that carry out therapeutic and rehabilitation projects; while the second has served four organizations, one more than the previous year ”. In total, "with both lines the projects and actions of 12 entities are subsidized for an amount close to 70,000 euros".
Llorca has explained that it is a technical commission that is in charge of evaluating the requests of the different associations and setting the amounts of the grant -which are convened in a free competition regime-, taking into account criteria such as the age of the entity, the developed and the quality of the projects proposed and executed during the period covered by the current call.

Grants to these entities ranges between 2,276.78 and 11,760 euros.
With regard to international cooperation projects, "this year one more entity has submitted to this call than in 2019". Specifically, the beneficiary entities of these grants, which range between 1,304.35 and 2,898.55 euros, are Chambbàa, Expedition Juita Amigos del Pueblo Saharaui, Manos Unidas and Rafiki Africa, which carry out international cooperation projects in developing countries or regions such as Togo, the Sahara, Honduras and Uganda.
