This morning he has received the Silver Medal of Scout Merit posthumously

Séquia Mare Park will house a permanent camp and a youth hostel with the name of José Antonio Añón

28 September 2019
El Parque Séquia Mare albergará un campamento permanente y un albergue juvenil con el nombre de José Antonio Añón

This morning Séquia Mare Park has been the setting chosen by Scout Horizontes Group to celebrate an emotional act, the award of the Silver Medal for Scout Merit, one of the most precious awards in the Valencian scout world, posthumously, José Antonio Añón, founder of Scout Horizontes Group of Benidorm, and who has delivered the distinction of the president of Scout Valencians, José Gómez to his wife Marisa Frau with the presence of the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez and several members of the government team .

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, wanted to extol the figure of José Antonio Añón in Scout Horizontes Group and announced that “Sequia Mare Park will house a permanent camp and a youth hostel for groups with his name in the near future” .

José Antonio Añón, was in charge of Scout Horizontes Group for twenty years, and in this act he wanted to recognize his tireless work both in the former Levante Zone of Scouts Baden Powell, where he was the area curator, as in the world of Spanish Scouting .

The Councilor for Youth, Jaime Jesús Pérez, has pointed out “the importance of the recognition of the founder of Scout Horizontes de Benidorm Group” and the forty-one years of its journey “through which thousands of young people from Benidorm have passed” following the Scout ideology to "become good citizens".
