The Mobility Council supports AICO's proposal to organize a Mobility Fair and Forum next year

10 December 2018
El Consejo de Movilidad respalda la propuesta de AICO de organizar el próximo año una Feria y Foro de Movilidad

The Mobility Advisory Council has today endorsed the proposal of the Independent Association of Merchants (AICO) to organize next year in the city the 1st Forum and Fair of Urban Mobility, Vehicles and Sustainable Technology of Benidorm, Benimov2019. According to the presentation transferred to the Council by the association, the idea is to organize a fair with the participation of dealers of four-wheel vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, workshops and any activity related to sustainable innovation and mobility; that is complemented by a forum in which to present and discuss the technological advances in the locomotion industry with new energy alternatives for mobility, such as electricity, vehicular natural gas and hydrogen, among others.

The councilor of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated that it is "a magnificent idea, and for that reason in the Mobility Advisory Council it has been agreed to start working for this event to be constituted as a forum for national and international that positions Benidorm even more as a reference in mobility and sustainable energies ".

Based on the AICO proposal, which has worked on the project in collaboration with the commercial Chance and Choices, the Advisory Board considered it relevant that Benimov2019 be held on the eve of the European Mobility Week, which in 2019 will take place from 16 to September 22.

As stated in the proposal, among Benimov 2019's objectives are "to contribute to the consolidation momentum" of Benidorm as "smart city"; present the latest trends and advances in innovative technologies in the field within a professional, tourist and business framework; publicizing the new trends in urban mobility and transportation of people; make the city and the forum a meeting point and debate on the future of sustainable mobility; and promote and consolidate the Benidorm City Sustainability Award.

In addition, as referenced during the presentation by the president of AICO, Raúl Parra, this event would also have a tourism component, since it would attract "a high-level professional congress tourism" and would make known the characteristics of Benidorm as "a benchmark for sustainability and quality tourism ".
