The Local Police of Benidorm has celebrated its 173 anniversary in a public event that has taken place in its dependencies of the street Greece that has been presided over by the mayor of the city, Toni Pérez.

In the ac the councilman of Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez and practically all of the municipal corporation were present. The senator by Alicante, Agustín Almodóbar, the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals 2017 Anna Galiana and Àngela Antón; the President of the Commission, Antonio Vicente Fuster; a broad representation of the State Security Corps and Forces, Civil Protection; and members of the festive, cultural, neighborhood and union associations of Benidorm.

In his speech, Toni Pérez, stressed that "Benidorm is a safe city", thanks to the efforts of men and women "committed to the public service" that are part of the Local Police. "Benidorm," said the mayor, "can be proud of many things, and one of them, without a doubt, is the perception of security that it offers to all of us here and to those who visit us."

Commitment to Local Police

Toni Pérez has shown all his commitment and that of the whole corporation with the Local Police. "I am speaking on behalf of all the municipal groups," he emphasized, "if I say that we will continue to mobilize the economic, material and human resources available to us, in order to continue to support in a real and possible way our Local Police on their way to the excellence". In this sense, Pérez recalled the "permanent claim" to provide the Local Police with sufficient troops to fulfill its mission "being constant and necessary to cover the vacancies that are occurring. And in our case, a city that must serve and attend to the needs of a population that at times of the year triples its population, maintain its levels of security and tranquility, is a necessity of vital importance. That is why Pérez has emphasized the 19 seats that will be "recovered and incorporated", thanks to the consensus reached with the trade union centrals, the RPT (List of Jobs) and the immediate incorporation of 10 temporary agents in The Beach Section.

Toni Pérez has insisted on the need to cover the "demands and expectations" of citizens in the area of ​​citizen security because otherwise "this becomes one of the main concerns of citizens." In this regard has affected the recent approval by the municipal plenary of the Strategic Plan of the Local Police Corps in which Benidorm is already working.

In memory of deceased agents

In the name of the city, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, has deposited a wreath in memory of the agents of the deceased body during the last year. The Chief Intendant of the Local Police, Juan Fuertes, addressed the participants and congratulated the Civil Protection volunteers who had passed the training courses and the local police officers who were distinguished with the Cross to Police Merit, with a white badge of the Generalitat for its 25 years of service "in an impeccable way" honoring "the body to which you belong and the city you serve." He also addressed the retired officers this year who thanked "the example of life and professional you have given us." Fuertes has reviewed the social and solidarity activities carried out by the Local Police and the fulfillment of the objectives set out in the municipal management areas.

The officers who received this year the Cross to Police Merit with White Distintive of the Generalitat have been: the official Jaime Angel González and the agents Antonio Martínez, Alfonso Ruiz, José Carlos Chiner, Encarna Palomares, Roque Pérez, Norberto Romero and Antonio Jesús Díaz Serrano. During the last year they have retired: the officer Manuel Caicedo and the agents Francisco Nocete, Roberto Casagrande and Luis Sender Lázaro.
