This Youth initiative has made it possible to reconcile the work and family life of parents working in sectors such as hospitality

Dozens of young people between 10 and 16 have participated in the program 'Summer 2018', organized for the first time by the Department of Youth and whose goal was to provide a leisure, cultural and educational alternative to children whose parents work during the high season , mainly in sectors such as the hospitality.
The councilor of the area, Ana Pellicer, stressed that "we are aware that in a tourist city like Benidorm, for workers linked in one way or another to the sector, it is not easy to reconcile work and family life during the summer, a time of greater workload ". "That's why from the City Council we wanted to encourage this reconciliation through this program, which has had numerous activities such as excursions to Serra Gelada Natural Park, theme parks or El Tossal in La Cala; games; and workshops on emotional intelligence, information technology, personal defense, languages and / or cooking.
'Summer 2018' has had two monitors assigned to the Department of Youth and has been developed "in three different fortnights" from Monday to Friday from 09.30 to 14.30 in the social center José Llorca Linares. In each shift "24 students participated, although some of them have repeated the experience and have accompanied us several fortnights, making in each of them different activities," said Pellicer.
The person in charge of Youth has indicated that "this first edition of the program has been a success both for the number of participants -covering the quota in each fortnight- and for the experience that these young people have experienced, who have been able to better understand our city and its important cultural and environmental heritage, who have enjoyed our beaches and the possibilities they offer for sports, and who have started in some disciplines such as cooking or have perfected their computer skills ".
