Culture opens the deadline to choose the artists who will perform in the street during 2017

As in previous years, the Paseo de los Artistas has 11 authorized points

The department of Culture begins this Monday, February 20, the process to choose the street performers who during the year can act in the eleven points authorized by the City Council, all located in spaces with an important traffic of pedestrians as the first line off beach, the old town and main streets of Rincón de Loix.

The councilwoman of the area, Ana Pellicer, has reported that, as in previous years, "we want the performances that take place in the street have an artistic level." Therefore, she explained, "we require artists to prove their experience, provide us with a complete dossier about the activity they are going to develop, and perform a performance test to show their skills and in which their artisitc quality can be assessed".

Applications to opt for one of the eleven points can be submitted from next Monday until March 10 at the City Hall Registry. The list of admitted and not admitted will be exposed from 13 to 17 March. Four days later, on March 21, after 10:30 am, the execution tests will be held in the Auditorium of the City Hall.

To opt for one of the points of Paseo de los Artistas must be of legal age, be registered as a self-employed, and be registered in Benidorm with a minimum of six months. In the case of foreigners, they must have a valid passport, residence permit or community resident card.

Each artist must provide a complete dossier about his/her activity and the curriculum in which their training and experience is collected. In addition, they must be up to date with the tax and Social Security obligations; and if the Valuation Commission of the City Council considers that the activity to be developed carries some risk, a civil liability policy will be required.

The points authorized by the City Council are: Elche Park in front of Esmeralda Hotel; Corner of Elche Park and Maravall street; Paseo de Poniente in front of Villa del Mar Hotel; Paseo de Poniente in front of Poseidón Playa; corner of Mediterranean avenues and Atmella de Mar; intersection of Gerona street and Atmella del Mar; corner of the latter with Juan Fuster Zaragoza; Plaza SSMM Reyes de España; Castelar Square; The confluence of this square with Santa Ana. In addition ti these points, in afternoon hours, on the corner Elche Park and Paseo de Colón.
