City Hall and students of the IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch collaborate again in the promotion of Benidorm's trade

The Contest of Christmas Dressing organized by Commerce celebrates its XXV edition

29 November 2018
El Concurso de Escaparatismo navideño organizado por Comercio celebra su XXV edición

The councilman of Commerce, Ana Pellicer, today presented the twenty-fifth edition of the Christmas Window Dressing Contest in which, for the second year, students from IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch will collaborate. During the event, the mayor was accompanied by Professor Raquel García and the students Pepa Vilaire, Raúl González, Laura Oertega and Ana Martínez.

The window dressing contest is directed on the one hand to commercial establishments, bars, restaurants, cafeterias and service companies. They will also be able to do it, on the other, hotels located in the municipality. Ana Pellicer has also specified that there will be "a special prize for the neighborhood association that best adorns its neighborhood with the embellishment and ornamentation of its streets and squares". The mayor recalled that the decoration of the windows will be "free" attending "the reason for the call is none other than Christmas."

Ana Pellicer has indicated that the registration period that will close on December 7 has already been opened. Then, and as a deadline on Tuesday 11, establishments must send a photograph of the decorated window. Among all the participants, the Council will select some thirty that will be the ones that will pass to the final phase. Ana Pellicer stressed that the jury "formed by members of business associations, artists, neighbors, housewives, Anemone and students of Pere Maria", will visit the establishments and assess who will be the winners.

The winners of the contest will be announced at the gala that will take place in the Hall of the City Council next December 20, in a ceremony that will be organized by students in the second year of the degree in Marketing and advertising of the institute.

The bases for the inscription in the Christmas Window Dressing Contest are available in the Citizen Portal of the City of Benidorm (https://benidorm.org/en/node/56401). Registration can be done in the same Council, administrative extensions, by phone 966 815 443 or by email to concursonavidad@benidorm.org.

Municipal Market h4>

In another order of things, for the second time, the Municipal Market of Benidorm will receive the visit of First and Second students of the intermediate degree in Commercial Activities Technician. They will again be in charge of decorating with Christmas motifs "the most commercial nucleus of our city," pointed out Pellicer. In this sense, Raquel García, professor of the Module of Public Relations and Organization of Events, has specified that what is intended is "to project the students towards the reality they will encounter when they finish their studies". The module seeks "a practical approach" that serves students to "escape traditional theory so they can work and develop real projects."
