The City Council undertakes water and sewerage services to musealize the Castellum del Tossal

The municipality of Benidorm undertakes, within the program of projects financed with FEDER Funds, the supply of drinking water and waste disposal for the toilets to be carried out at the Archaeological Site of the Roman Castellum del Tossal de La Cala within the musealization project of the same.

The councilor of Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated that it is “a very important work for tourism” and is carried out with European Union Funds, executed by Hidraqua.

The performance will serve visitors who come to that enclave of local history, of undoubted appeal as soon as the cultural project is developed. The enclosure will have an integrated toilet system without any visual impact on the whole.

The musealization includes the interpretation module of the site "in order to give the corresponding explanations of everything related to the archeological theme".

The drinking water connection, after studying other options, will be carried out from Ermita Street and will involve the modification of the existing pumping and the construction of a new one, with a pressure group and electrical panel, as well as the installation of pipes and fire hydrant / irrigation. Also, the relevant registration boxes. The evacuation of residuals will be carried out by a new construction pipeline, with registration wells, until it connects with the existing network.

The civil works include the excavation of ditches and the subsequent resurfacing, after the demolition of the pavement and replacement with asphalt agglomerate, the registration arches of the white water network and the wells for the sewerage network, as well as the house for accommodation of the pressure set and the electrical panel. The Technical Services have taken advantage of the action to install a double pipe, in parallel to the conduction of drinking water, for future municipal uses related to the musealization project of the site of the Roman Castellum del Tossal.

The amount of the works is ninety-four thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight euros with thirty-seven cents, excluding VAT) and the execution period is five weeks, which will be completed before November 15.
