The City Council delivers masks to the population over 65 on Wednesday

06 July 2020
El Ayuntamiento entrega el miércoles mascarillas a la población de más de 65 años

Benidorm City Council is carrying out this Wednesday, July 8, "another distribution of masks among the population over 65 years of age registered in the city", as reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez. As in previous installments, the distribution of masks will be made at the six points provided by the City Council for ‘Menjadors a casa’ municipal program, from 09:30 to 13:30. People over 65 will be able to pick up the masks by providing their ID at the nearest point of their residence: Casa del Fester, José Llorca Linares ’and La Torreta social centers, and CEIPs El Murtal, Ausiàs March and Els Tolls.

Toni Pérez has pointed out that "prevention continues to be the most effective way to combat Covid-19, therefore there is a legal obligation to wear a mask as long as a physical distance of at least 1.5 meters cannot be maintained."

The mayor recalled that "within the work of care for the population carried out by the City Council during the state of alarm, these protection devices were distributed among all registered citizens, thus facilitating access to the masks and contributing to the prevention no longer increase household spending. ” "Now," he added, "once the state of alarm has been lifted and all phases of the restrictions lifting are over, we offer a new dispensing of masks to the population most vulnerable to Covid-19, which we have also wanted to protect in a special way in the use of our beaches, configuring for them specific spaces ”.

As on previous occasions, municipal staff and volunteers from the Collective Aid Network (#RAC) will attend the six points enabled for the distribution of masks, where they will also proceed to deliver the weekly menus of the 'Menjadors a casa' program, which the City Council will maintain it throughout the month of July.
