Benidorm starts BeniMov and becomes the headquarters of Omega project, pioneer in transport and security in parcel, groupage and cargo LCL
One of the highest accident rates and claims in the transport of goods occurs in the range of vans, as well as in everything related to the so-called "loose cargo" or groupage. Although RD563 / 2017 entered into force in 2018, which imposed a new roadside estivative regulation, it presented some limitations in this field. Thus, for example, the EN12195-1 standard, which addresses estivary techniques and calculations, is only applicable for vehicles over 3.5t.
In this sense, Alana Institute has presented this morning at BeniMov fair in Benidorm a pioneering proposal to address these issues at the root: the first state work table on security in vans, groupage and mixed loose cargo.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez has stressed that "this project will make Benidorm the national headquarters of Omega project, thus giving way to multiple leading developments that would affect the entire sector, including Smart transport and urban ecommerce."
Alana, whose organization stands out in the area of transport safety, has managed to gather an outstanding working table formed by large shippers, transport companies, freight forwarders, insurance, bodybuilders or security forces, which have analyzed, for the first time in our country, the proposals, technical standards, training programs and developments in tools and bodies in this field.
With this action, Benidorm is positioned as a reference and pioneer city in transport and security in parcel and cargo LCL, since at this table the first Spanish guide on security in parcel, groupage and loose cargo, supported by police bodies and approved by the University of Gothenburg, which will provide training in Sweden - a reference country in international stowage.
In addition to being a pioneer, the project is innovative and technological since today the first safety sheet in vans in Spain has been presented at this work table, something highly anticipated by the sector, by the creators of the “safety sheet” for trucks that was already presented to DGT in 2017.
The president of the Alana Institute, The lawyer from Alicante, Eva María Hernández Ramos, the first woman master of loads in Spain and EUMOS in Europe has announced that “it is a unique opportunity to correct and change bad practices that generate numerous accidents and millions of human and economic losses in claims every year. ”
