Benidorm schools are ready for the start of the 2019/2020 school year, which starts this Monday, September 9. Throughout the summer, and as usual, the Department of Education has carried out "maintenance works and actions in the various public schools in the city, attending to requests transferred by the management of the centers", as indicated by the councillor of the area, Maite Moreno.

In addition to repairs and basic plumbing, windows or electricity arrangements made in all centers by the Municipal Technical Services Brigade, the City Council has also renewed fire prevention and extinguishing systems in all schools.

Apart from these ordinary actions in all the centers of the city, ”specific works have also been carried out in various schools, such as the adaptation of 3-year kindergarten classrooms at Mestre Gaspar López and La Cala to host the new units of P-3 created for this school year ”. Likewise, the kitchen of the house of the receptionist of Puig Campana school has been arranged and equipped; and it has acted on the pavement of the sports track of Bautista Lledó.

On the other hand, the person in charge of Education has informed that on Thursday the Committee of Infant and Primary Schooling met to “proceed to the assignment of a center to minors who have applied for a place in Benidorm after the ordinary enrollment period, which ended on 3rd of July". In total, there have been more than a hundred applications for registration filed between July 4 and September 5.

Moreno has informed that after evaluating these enrollment requests "and taking into account the demand that there was for a 4-year-old Infant Education student, Conselleria has been asked to create a new unit at the Vasco Núñez de Balboa school." He also stressed that "all children who have applied for a place during the extraordinary period have already been assigned or proposed a school, since the Benidorm network has sufficient capacity to meet these requests for schooling." Now each family must formalize the enrollment in the corresponding school.
