30 May 2020
Benidorm abre parcialmente el Parque de Foietes para pasear y hacer deporte

From today Benidorm City Council reopens partially Foietes Park, the last of the city's green areas that was closed to the public as a result of the health crisis caused by Covid-19. The mayor, Toni Pérez, has reported that “as in the rest of the city parks, the walking area is going to be enabled, leaving the playground, biohealthy and recreational areas closed, as well as public toilets "

The mayor has indicated that "since the restrictions lifting plan set by the Government of Spain began, we have been progressively making more spaces available for the public to stroll and practice sports in authorized time slots, and also adding new spaces" . Thus, “in addition to the reopening of the parks of Elche, Séquia Mare and l’Aigüera, we have made Armada Española Avenue pedestrian, the final stretch Sant Pere and Greco streets; and we have also opened new roads in Poniente area, totaling about 2.5 kilometers for pedestrian enjoyment ”.

Toni Pérez recalled that Benidorm has about 9.5 kilometers of pedestrian streets, to which are added the more than 5 kilometers of promenades. In addition, the city has 91 kilometers of bike lanes and almost 270,000 square meters of green areas.
