The City Council reminds that the authorized outings from tomorrow to children under 14 years will be a maximum of one hour and within a radius of less than one kilometer from their home

Benidorm maintains restrictions on access to beaches and public parks

Benidorm mantiene las restricciones de acceso a playas y parques públicos

Benidorm City Council maintains the access restrictions to the public parks and beaches of the city decreed on March 12 and 14, respectively, so the departures established by the Government of Spain to children under 14 from tomorrow, April 26, they must adhere to the rest of the authorized areas and spaces. This measure is in line with the decree of extension of measures of the state of alarm, issued by the Government of Spain on March 17, which limited circulation in spaces for public use such as beaches.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, has indicated that as of this Sunday, as stated in the order issued by the Ministry of Health published today in the Official State Gazette (BOE), minors under 14 years accompanied by an adult may perform "A daily walk, maximum one hour long and at a distance of no more than one kilometer from children home, between 09.00 and 21.00." This daily walk "should be carried out at most in groups formed by a responsible adult and up to three boys or girls."

During these displacements "a distance" must be maintained with third parties "of at least two meters". In addition, "the prevention and hygiene measures against Covid-19 indicated by the health authorities must be complied with," such as hand washing once the ride is over.

Regarding the permitted places, the ministerial order establishes that "it will be possible to move on any road or space for public use, including natural spaces and authorized green areas." In this regard, the mayor, Toni Pérez, recalled that "for prevention against the spread of the virus, the beaches and public parks of Benidorm are closed to the public before the state of alarm was decreed, a situation in which they will continue until further instruction ”.

In this sense, Toni Pérez has indicated that “in this initial phase of authorized exits and displacements to minors we are going to be prudent and maintain all the preventive and security measures dictated so far, although depending on how the situation evolves, and attending provided the recommendations of the health authorities, public spaces where access is now restricted could be opened ”. "Our priority is people's safety, and that is why any decision that is taken will be made as long as that safety is guaranteed," he concluded.

The mayor has appealed "to responsibility" when going out with minors, and has shown himself convinced that "Benidorm will continue to comply in a model way as it has done so far".
