Benidorm faces its toughest November thanks to promotion

03 December 2020
Benidorm faces its toughest November thanks to promotion...

Despite the complex situation facing the city of Benidorm due to the global health crisis and the damage it has caused to the local tourism sector, Visit Benidorm Foundation does not cease in its dissemination work with the intention of offering promotional coverage to companies that still remain open and above all, to position itself as the first vacation destination to go to when mobility is reactivated.

Therefore, we could say that the least “sweet” month of November in recent years has, however, been a month full of promotional actions of different kinds, trying to cover different countries and promoting the most attractive products in the city.

This month, the joint entity has participated in a total of five virtual fairs and workshops of a generic nature and both nationally and internationally, such as the Valencia Boat Show, the World Travel Market, the Medantor health workshop in Russia and the two “Discover Benidorm” Workshops organized by Visit Benidorm, in which the mixed entity, in addition to making a total of five presentations on the destination, provided the possibility for local entrepreneurs to meet and show their product to European tour operators.

Regarding product promotion, Visit Benidorm has been present in three professional conferences or workshops with the intention of attracting meeting and incentive tourists (MICE) from countries such as France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Actions and presentations have also been carried out to tour operators on specific offer in the city such as sports or family.

New projects such as “Digital Nomads”, in which Benidorm becomes an ideal destination for teleworking, or “Benidorm E-Campus”, a training program given by the Visit Benidorm team to universities and schools in throughout Europe, they have already taken shape and are beginning to roll, having carried out the first trainings in universities in the United Kingdom and France, and the first publications and meetings with the intention of establishing the city as a refuge for the new digital nomads.

However, the creative spirit does not cease, and during this month, Visit Benidorm has launched a new project; "Life in Benidorm" Podcasts. Which consists of the recording of audio files (podcasts) about the city, its history, its best gastronomy, its best anecdotes, etc. to later, publish them on widely distributed channels such as Spotify or Ivoox, with the intention of reaching a large number of people.

For this month of December the promotional activity continues, without going any further, this same week the Foundation is present at the virtual fair Spagna Virtual, focused on professionals and the Italian final public. But also, Visit Benidorm has already confirmed its participation in the most important MICE fair in the world IBTM World, which this year and due to the situation will take place virtually, a III workshop "Discover Benidorm" with tour operators from the North of Europe, an advertising campaign to promote the national proximity market and a co-marketing campaign in which British tour operators are expected to participate and whose intention is to promote a possible increase in travel purchases by the English during Christmas
