Benidorm City Council and the #YoCosoEnCasa initiative, promoted by Els Tolls Neighborhood Association, have delivered this morning 1,500 white coats for the health staff of La Vila Joiosa Hospital, and it is expected that in the coming days 3,000 maskswill also be delivered. The material for these protective equipment has been provided by Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Fiestas; About 2,000 meters of fabric that "Benidorm dressmakers who make festive clothing during the year and #YoCosoEnCasa volunteers have been in charge of turning into white coats and masks," according to the mayor of the department, Jesús Carrobles.

“We wanted to contribute by providing this protection material to the health personnel of our reference hospital; a staff that since the beginning of the health crisis has been showing its professionalism and dedication to, from the front line, combating COVID-19 and caring for affected people, ”Carrobles said.

The councilor explained that the dressmakers and volunteers have made these kits at home. Some teams that have subsequently received sterilization treatment in a collaborating laundry, where they have undergone a process of washing with hydrogen peroxide and where they have been bagged for delivery to the hospital's medical officers.

Carrobles thanked "the solidarity and altruism of this group of dressmakers in Benidorm and the #YoCosoEnCasa volunteers who have dedicated their time to helping our health personnel to be more and better protected during the performance of their duties."
