Benidorm commemorates the International Book Day with the reading of Don Quixote in Hort de Colón
Benidorm commemorates the International Book Day with the uninterrupted public reading of Don Quixote, an event that takes place in the gardens of l'Hort de Colon, with the organization of the councils of Historical Heritage and Culture, and the collaboration of Cleben and Afratex Associations. In the reading members of the Municipal Corporation participated and all those people who wanted to voluntarily join this commemoration.
On this occasion, the reading was resumed at 12.00 in the morning in the gardens of l'Hort de Colón and the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer and others participated in the reading of Quixote like members of the municipal corporation, as well as volunteer readers.
This year, for the first time, an initiative has been carried out that goes beyond the scope of the library, bringing culture closer to local businesses with the aim of commemorating the event. Finally, 25 shops have collaborated in this project and nearly 700 copies have been delivered exceeding the initial expectations.
Another of the commemorative activities for the International Book Day in Benidorm is the celebration of a reading activity for the little ones that will take place today at 6:00 pm in the Central Library by Conta3 Company with the title " The adventures of Don Quixote: interactive show "in which children will participate in different passages of the universal work of Cervantes.
