Benidorm celebrates the VII Nationalities Day paying homage to the Romanian artist Dorina Apóstol
Benidorm celebrates on Saturday, May 11, the seventh edition of the 'Nationalities Day', in l'Aigüera Park. It is an initiative of the Neighborhood Council that has the full support of the Department of Citizen Participation.
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, María Jesús Pinto, has announced this morning all the details of the event accompanied by the president of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido, the second vice president, Manuel Sánchez Notario and the Spokesman of the Commission of Nationalities, Cristian Corriani. Pinto recalled that in the city "more than 107" countries coexist and that on Saturday "there will be 24 of them" participating in a "fun and convivial day". At the end of the institutional act the participants will delight us with folkloric performances of their countries and traditions. Likewise, Pinto invites all citizens to participate in this event
On Saturday at 7:00 pm will take place at the Oscar Esplá Auditorium, the presentation at the institutional act of the invited person Dorina Apóstol representing his country Romania. The councilor described Dorina as "a woman committed to education, education and culture in her country of birth and in Spain, specifically Benidorm, where she lives and develops a great work through teaching." Upon his arrival he created the association of Romanians in the city 'Ulpia Traiana' of which he is president and over time has continued to expand its work throughout the province.
For its part, the president of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido, has shown her pleasure at the choice of artist Dorina Apóstol for her involvement in the work she does. The sample of handicrafts and gastronomy will begin on Saturday at 12.00 in the Parque de l'Aiguera. with the participation 24 countries and 34 exhibitors.
Finally, the vice president, Manuel Sánchez, commented that "this year three new countries will be involved such as India, Pakistan and Slovakia."
