AFA Marina Baixa completa su traslado al ‘Pepa Esperanza Llinares Llorca’

Social Welfare has invested about 60,000 euros in conditioning a part of the center as the headquarters of the association

The Association of Relatives and Patients of Alzheimer's in the Marina Baixa (AFA) has recovered its activity fully after completing its transfer to the center 'Pepa Esperanza Llinares Llorca', located in La Cala and in which already have their headquarters several social the city. This Friday, the inauguration of these new facilities has been held, allowing AFA to have a space of around 400 square meters to develop therapies and workshops with people suffering from this disease.

The mayor, Toni Pérez; The Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca; Members of the corporation; And representatives of various social entities of the city today wanted to accompany the board of directors of AFA, users of the center and their families in the official premiere of these facilities, in which the City has invested about 60,000 euros.

These funds have been used to prepare a space that was diaphanous and to create in it, among other things, three therapy rooms, one of physiotherapy, adapted toilets and a warehouse. In addition, furniture has also been purchased and the heating and cooling system has been improved.

The mayor said that with the conditioning of these facilities and their making available to the association "we are paying a significant debt to the families of Alzheimer's patients and the AFA family." At this point, Perez recalled that this center "bears the name Pepa Esperanza Llinares Llorca is especially for it to have its headquarters in this association," since it had "a special link with AFA and Alzheimer's and dedicated the last years Of his life to the entity ".

The president of AFA Marina Baixa, Garbiñe Mondragón, stressed that these facilities will allow the association to offer "more services", and enjoy activities that until now could not develop in its headquarters as outdoor gymnastics. He also thanked the City Council for its involvement with the association and for the improvement and refurbishment of the center's facilities.
