Culture organizes activities in Julio Iglesias auditorium and Foietes Park, adapting the venues to health regulations

Music, theater, cinema and art in the summer cultural program

09 July 2020
Música, teatro, cine y arte en la programación cultural de verano

Music, theater and cinema and art make up the proposal of the Department of Culture for this summer, which today has been announced by the mayor of the area, Jaime Jesús Pérez. It is “a program that includes the initiatives and activities with the greatest acceptance among the public, and with which we also support and value local culture; all in the open air to enjoy Benidorm nights in such attractive urban enclaves as Julio Iglesias auditorium of l’Aigüera Park and Foietes Park ”.

Pérez stressed that "entry to activities scheduled by the Department is free and, logically, is limited to the maximum authorized capacity of each of the spaces."

This cultural program starts this Friday with the first installment of Teatre d’Estiu ’: the performance of 'Campamento diversión’ in Foietes Park at 9:00 p.m. The second installment of this activity focused on the family audience will be on Friday, July 31 with ‘Fasemiusick’, also at 9:00 p.m. and in the same venue.

With the Skyline Film Festival of short films in its final stretch, the Councilor for Culture has advanced that the seventh art “will also have its place in the August program with 'Cinema d'Estiu', an activity highly demanded and appreciated by the public family and that moves to Julio Iglesias auditorium in l'Aigüera Park, an enclosure that has already adapted to the new health regulations and where two films that have been a critical and spectator success will be shown: Campeones and Coco ”.

Music will star in the ‘Concerts d’Estiu’ cycle. The Councilor for Culture has indicated that "we want this musical cycle so that our bands recover the activity of concerts after the health crisis, and at the same time to bring their interpretation, quality and good work, to the local public and also to visitors" .

‘Concerts d'Estiu’ will offer three performances i Julio Iglesias auditorium on three consecutive Sundays, from July 26 to August 9. The concerts will be at 9:00 p.m. The UM will start the cycle, and then it will be the turn of SM La Nova and SM l’Illa.

Lastly, the talent of artists who are starting their careers centers the exhibition of ‘New Creators’ Contest that can be seen until July 17 at l’Espai d’Art del Ayuntamiento. In total, 29 works by young people aged 14 and 35 from all over Spain who are eligible for a prize of 1,000 euros in the categories of painting and sculpture, and whose decision will be announced on the closing day at 12:30.
