Benidorm City Council has expressed its "strongest and most determined support for Benidorm Basketball Club" after being "readmitted in the EBA League by the Spanish Basketball Federation," competition in which he participated for the past six years "for sports law" . As stated in the communiqué issued by the Mayor's Office, this “exemplary” club contributes “strongly not only to maintain and increase in Benidorm the passion for the noble sport of Basketball, but also to the formation in the values inherent in sport for our childhood and youth ”. In addition, the entity "promotes the city and the main tourist destination of the Mediterranean wherever it travels, also putting in value the hospitality that characterizes this city, when it receives the competition."

In the same statement, the City Hall also shows its confidence "in the definitive and firm restitution of all the club's sports rights won on the courts."

In this regard, it should be remembered that on July 10 the Delegate Commission of the Spanish Basketball Federation informed Benidorm Basketball club that it was not registered in the EBA League for the 2019-2020 competition, due to a defect in a document in the inscription. The entity appealed this decision first to the Superior Sports Council - which it declared not to be competent - and then to the Civil Justice. Now the judge has decreed "the precautionary suspension of the decision of the Delegate Commission of the Federation and the admission of the CB Benidorm." In this way, the Federation included Benidorm team in the first day of competition without altering the calendar of the same, previously raffled.

Since its founding in 1982, the Club has been "a sports reference of the city" and "an institution of deep tradition" in this area, the statement said. Currently, Benidorm Basketball Club maintains 18 teams in federated competitions and has a sports structure with more than 230 boys, girls, youth and adults practicing basketball from pre-Benjamin to seniors. In recent seasons in the EBA League, he has struggled for promotion to LEB Plata.
