The City Council of Benidorm and Asmibe present the XX Adapted Sports Games

Next Thursday, May 17, the twentieth edition of the Adapted Sports Games of ASMIBE (Association of Disabled People of Benidorm) will be held in Benidorm, which will take place on the athletic tracks of the Municipal Sports City 'Guillermo Amor' from the 10.30 in the morning.

The Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, together with the president of the association, Mari Fernández, have announced the celebration of the event that hopes to overcome the participation of previous calls. Cabrillo has indicated that it is "a playful-sporting and convivial day in which schools, centers of special education, occupational centers and residences of Benidorm, its district and the whole province will intervene".

Arturo Cabrillo confirmed the attendance of 15 centers: CEIP Miguel Hernández, CEIP Puig Campana, IES Mediterranea, CEE Secanet (Villajoyosa), TAPIS Benidorm, CO Doble Amor, AFEM Marina Baixa, CEEM Benidorm, CRIS Benidorm, CO Les Talaies (Villajoyosa) , APRESDECO (Denia), CO Colores ASPRODIS (Elda), San Francisco de Borja Foundation, San Rafael Center (Alicante), Sheltered housing INTEGRAMENT (Benidorm) and ASMIBE.

The councillor indicated that the tests will consist of assisted races, speed, long jump, shot put, petanque, psychomotricity circuit, throw to goal, dunk basketball, tennis, minigolf, cobweb, bowling and skill games. Cabrillo also wanted to highlight the collaboration with the organization of 45 students studying the TAFAD degree (Senior Technician in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities) at the International School Lope de Vega. They will ensure the participation of young people with their presence.

For her part, Mari Fernández recalled that "we have been doing this activity for 20 years and more and more successfully" and that the participation of "about 180 people with disabilities" is expected, along with their monitors and companions, which may imply "that we We are going to gather about 240 people, if not more. " The president of Asmibe has stressed that "it is about games, there is no competition" in which all the boys "are going to be winners" and that for all "there will be a medal".

At 12:30 the trophies and medals of the XX Asmibe Adapted Games will be awarded and then a fellowship meal will take place, attended by all the participants, monitors and collaborators.
