Discharged users may use the service for free for a month and a half as compensation for the time they have been inactive

Benidorm resumes the bicycle loan service after renewing the fleet and updating the terminals

Benidorm reanuda el servicio de préstamos de bicicletas tras renovar la flota y actualizar los terminales

Benidorm resumes this week the service of loans and bicycle rental, Bicidorm, which has been inoperative for a month and a half "due to internal problems of the company that lent it", as reported by the councilor of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate. De Zárate clarified that "these problems have been solved" and the urban furniture concessionaire, Impursa, "has assumed the direct management of the service", which will mean "an improvement for users".

In recent days, Impursa has changed "the software to update the terminals" and "has proceeded to repair and replace the bicycles that were damaged." In addition, "about fifty new bicycles will be incorporated", which will be distributed among the 23 bases -of ten anchors each- that are installed in the city.

De Zárate stressed that these changes will not affect the operation, since "users will have the same service through the same website and the same phones as before".

The councilor asked for "apologies" to users of Bicidorm for the interruption of the service and advanced that "they will compensate for the time that has been inoperative." Thus, registered users can use the service "completely free of charge" for 45 days.
