'Benidorm fet a mà' promotes traditional trade in Mercado Abril

21 March 2018
‘Benidorm fet a mà’ promociona el comercio tradicional del Mercado Abril

The traditional trade promotion campaign, 'Benidorm fet a mà', promoted by the Councils of Commerce and Employment in collaboration with students of the first degree of Marketing and Advertising of the IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch, has moved this morning the recording equipment to Mercado Abril. p>

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has joined the Councilors of Commerce and Employment, Ana Pellicer and Mª Jesús Pinto, in the visit they have made to these facilities that bring together a number of specialized stalls in natural products, of high quality and craftsmanship. In the recording of the promotional videos, by IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch, the students Ana Aguirre and Daniela Pincio have intervened.

Mª Jesús Pinto recalled that Mercado Abril "opened its doors in 1967" and since that date it is considered like "an icon of our city". Pinto advocated the promotion of our traditional trade because it generates wealth and employment and, in addition, markets are "the place where traders live together" and can make their most innovative proposals for consumers.

On the other hand, Ana Pellicer emphasized the wide variety of products offered by Mercado Abril, closely linked to "the Mediterranean diet". She highlighted the best fruits, vegetables, meats, fresh fish and seafood. "A curious thing" of Mercado Abril - Pellicer said - is that these freshly fresh products "can be eaten cooked in the bar" at the moment, paying only a supplement for the service.

Ana Pellicer believes that with 'Benidorm fet a mà', the Mercado Abril will be promoted among our neighbors "thanks to the students of Pere Maria", and also among the tourists who visit us. Pellicer recalled that much of the target audience to whom this municipal campaign is directed is foreign and that they are designing performances in English focused on him.
