The celebration of Palm Sunday is being experienced with all intensity in Benidorm. At 10:30 in the morning, the first palms were blessed at Ermita de Sanz, at 11.00 in Sant Jaume and Santa Anna and La Almudena, at 11.30 in San Francisco de Asís, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, at 11.45 in Nuestra Señora del Carmen and at noon in El Buen Pastor and San Juan Bautista.
Palm Sunday recalls the entrance, on the back of a colt, of Jesus of Nazareth in Jerusalem and is the official beginning of Easter. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has participated in the events held in the Parish Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna, accompanied by the councilman of Social Security, Lorenzo Martínez, and the councilors Cristina Escoda and Angela Berna. It was also present along the route the senator Agustín Almodóbar, the deputy Manuel Pérez Fenoll, the president of the Commission of Festes Majors Patronals 2017, Antonio Vicente Fuster and the Association of Penyes, Mariano Nájera.
