More than 300 people attend the concert of the 'Societat Musical l'Illa de Benidorm' on Calle Gambo

The 'Societat Musical L'Illa de Benidorm' has offered a concert on Gambo Street this afternoon, as part of the events scheduled by Benidorm City Hall throughout the weekend to mark the 9th of October. In the concert, which has been attended more than 300 people, have been present the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the first deputy mayor and councillor of Culture, Ana Pellicer; as well as the councilors Arturo Cabrillo and Paquita Ripoll.

Benidorm City Council has prepared throughout the weekend, in collaboration with the Commission for Major Festivities, the largest program organized to date on 9 October, the Valencian Community Day.

The day tomorrow 9 October will begin at 11 am with the celebration of the Institutional Plenary in the Plaza del Castillo, where the Cultural Distinction Benidorm 2017 will be delivered to Bárbara Alemany Barceló. "A prize," said the mayor, "more than deserved and that comes to recognize her career and contribution to the language, culture and traditions of people from Benidorm and the Valencian people." In this act will be Unión Musical of Benidorm the one in charge to interpret the hymn of Spain during the raising of flags, and those of Benidorm and the Valencian Community at the conclusion of the act. In addition, and for the first time, will be distributed among the attendees leaflets with the lyrics of both hymns.

Then the official visit to the 9th October Traditional Fair will be held, where the queens and the Ladies of Honor will dance the traditional "peuet". The program will conclude in the afternoon, at 6 pm, on Gambo Street, with the performance of the work "La Conquesta de València a l'any 1238", by students from CEIP "Ausiàs March" in Benidorm.
