The IES Mediterrània celebrates its X Training Days of Hospitality and Tourism

09 May 2017
El IES Mediterrània celebra sus X Jornadas formativas de hostelería y turismo

Experts in the sector will help and train future professionals during three days

This morning, the tenth edition of the Hospitality and Tourism Training Days organized every year by the School of Hospitality and Maritime Tourism of the IES Mediterrània was inaugurated in an event attended by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, accompanied by the Vice-President and responsible for Tourism Promotion of Diputación de Alicante, Eduardo Dolón, and the director of the center, Luis González.

In his speech, Toni Pérez recalled "the importance of training" to achieve tourism excellence and how time has consolidated a conference in which he was present in its first edition. Pérez, who also has the municipal powers in Education and Tourism, has highlighted the coincidence of these days with the institutional celebration of the Day of Europe and the role of Benidorm as a "European reference" in tourism.

Throughout the day, professionals consolidated in the sector, will discuss issues such as sustainable tourism, fresh pasta, guided tastings of spirits and liqueurs, coffee art or sustainable hotels. Tomorrow Wednesday there will be a talk about entrepreneurship, there will be time to make a route through the Serra Gelada and will work products such as olive oil, ham, cutting, and mass production. For the last day they will work materials such as carbon footprint, rice, gin tonic and acrobatic cocktails, Benicarló artichoke and a comparation between working standing or sitting.
